Background & experience
Divyam's first repair was not a business decision. It was a dead family desktop in Vasna that a local shop had quoted a full replacement for. He opened it, traced the fault to a bulging capacitor on the motherboard, replaced a ₹15 component, and the machine ran for another four years. That gap — between what a device actually needs and what a customer is told it needs — became the founding premise of HOPE Systems.
Through his late teens he worked through consumer-electronics repair training in Ahmedabad, then spent several years on service benches handling everything from CRT-era power supplies to the first generation of thin-and-light laptops. That period built the habit the lab still runs on today: measure before you replace. A laptop that will not power on has a measurable reason, and that reason is almost never "the motherboard is gone."
HOPE Systems opened in 2015 as a single bench in Vasna, Ahmedabad, taking walk-in repairs for students and neighbourhood families. The turning point came from board-level work. As authorised service centres moved almost entirely to board-swap policies, customers with a ₹600 charging-IC failure were being quoted ₹18,000–₹25,000 for a replacement mainboard. Divyam invested in a BGA rework station, a thermal camera and a proper oscilloscope, and started taking the jobs other shops refused: liquid-damage revivals, no-power boards, MacBook logic boards, drives that clicked.
Eleven years later the lab has completed more than 14,200 repairs, of which Divyam personally handled over 12,000. He still holds the soldering iron for every chip-level job. The business scaled by adding engineers, ESD-safe benches and a documented intake-to-dispatch checklist — not by outsourcing the hard work. Roughly one in five devices that arrive at HOPE Systems has already been declared unrepairable somewhere else; the board-level success rate on those is 94%.
Alongside the workshop, he built the pricing transparency the business is now known for in Ahmedabad. Every service carries a published price band, a published turnaround and a published warranty, and no work starts without a quote the customer has approved. The "no fix, no charge" guarantee exists because he believes a diagnosis a customer cannot act on is not a service worth billing for.

Divyam profiles every reflow cycle himself. On the Ersa IR reflow oven he maintains separate ramp-soak-reflow profiles per board family so that a Dell Latitude mainboard and a MacBook logic board are never heated on the same curve. On the Quick 706H BGA station he handles reballing down to 0.5 mm ball pitch — the pitch at which most independent workshops in Gujarat stop and refer out.
Fault-finding starts at the Fluke 87V MAX in diode mode, moves to a current-limited bench supply for short hunting, and is confirmed on the FLIR T330 thermal camera, which finds a shorted component by heat rise in seconds. Power-on sequencing, PWM enable lines and clock signals are captured on the 100 MHz four-channel oscilloscope. Nothing is replaced on suspicion.
