What a service actually changes

Quick answer

We record six things before any repair begins — boot time, drive SMART health, peak temperature, sustained clock speed, battery capacity against design capacity, and memory pressure during your own workload — and record them again on the bench afterwards. If the numbers do not move the way we said they would, the no-fix-no-charge policy applies.

The six measurements

Cold boot to usable desktop

How: Stopwatch from power button to a responsive desktop, three runs, worst result recorded.

What we usually see: Hard-drive machine: 70–140 s. After an SSD upgrade and clean Windows: 12–20 s.

Drive health (SMART)

How: Reallocated sectors, pending sectors and power-on hours read before we touch anything.

What we usually see: We refuse to upgrade around a drive with pending sectors — data comes off it first.

Peak CPU temperature under load

How: Ten-minute sustained load, package temperature logged before and after thermal service.

What we usually see: Dust-clogged laptops commonly throttle in the 95–100 °C range; after a full teardown, repaste and fan clean they typically settle 15–25 °C lower.

Sustained clock speed under load

How: Average clock over the same ten-minute load, before and after.

What we usually see: A throttling laptop that held ~1.2 GHz will usually hold its rated turbo range once thermals are fixed.

Battery design vs. full-charge capacity

How: Windows battery report or system profiler, plus a physical swelling check.

What we usually see: Below roughly 60 percent of design capacity we recommend replacement (₹1,799 onward), not a 'calibration'.

Memory pressure during your real work

How: Task Manager memory usage recorded while your own applications are open.

What we usually see: Above ~80 percent sustained means a RAM upgrade will be felt; below ~60 percent it will not.

Common questions

Do you record the machine's condition before you start work?

Yes. Every intake is photographed on arrival, the visible damage is written into the job sheet, and the measurable items — boot time, drive SMART data, thermals and battery health — are recorded before any part is removed. You get that fault list in writing along with the quote, before you approve anything.

What improvement is realistic after a service?

It depends entirely on what was wrong. Fitting an SSD in place of a hard drive changes boot from over a minute to roughly fifteen seconds. A thermal service on a dust-clogged laptop typically drops peak temperatures by 15–25 °C and stops the throttling that made it feel slow. A software clean-up alone changes far less, and we say so rather than overselling it.

Can you guarantee a specific speed after repair?

No, and nobody honest can. We can guarantee the fault is fixed, the parts are genuine, and the workmanship carries a 90-day warranty. Where the hardware itself is the ceiling — an old CPU, soldered memory — we tell you the ceiling before you spend, which is the point of a free diagnosis.

Can I see the before and after on real jobs?

Yes. Our before-and-after records document actual repairs that came through the Vasna workshop, with the fault, the work carried out and the outcome. They are the same jobs behind the reviews on our Google Business Profile.

What happens if the numbers do not improve?

Then we have not delivered what we quoted, and the no-fix-no-charge policy applies — you pay nothing for a repair that did not achieve what we said it would. If a fault recurs within 90 days we collect the machine again at our own cost and re-do the work.
